PHOTOS FROM THE NIGHT
This is a collage of pictures from the night of the 'Big Screen Bash' final show that took place in Cirencester College Sundial theatre on the 18th of May.
The picture on the bottom left of the collage shows me presenting my work to the audience. There is also pictures of the audience and my classmates enjoying the evening.
DIARY/REFLECTION
Planning for the show began quite early, with the initial idea of booking the college's theatre. We are very lucky to have such a good theatre available on campus.
There was a discussion about whether or not the tickets would be free, but this was not possible because the theatre had to pay the staff involved. The entry fee was a reasonable £5 per person.
Photos were taken of everyone with their guests upon arrival. The picture on the left is of me and my parents whom I took as my guests.
I designed a logo for the introduction to my animation, which also had to be a specific diameter 600x250 to fit on the 'photowall' with all of my classmates logos. This was then made into a big canvas of all of our logos.
This is the official programme created by my classmate detailing the films that people will be seeing during the evening. These programmes were handed out to guests as they came thorough the doors.
SUCCESSES/FAILURES
My task was to be an usher for the audience. This meant that I stood outside the theatre doors and welcomed people in, as well as showing them to their seats if needed.
One the front desk staff members who checked the tickets explained to the guests where their seats were, which made it challenging for me to do my job properly. This is something that didn't go very well for me.
I regret not getting involved in more activities while the show was still in development. I completed all of the required paperwork, but I would have enjoyed editing the showreel or helping to create the programme.
I was not confident in putting myself forward to do these things, but on reflection I should have pushed myself to do so.
I think that attending the rehearsals during the week commencing the show was a success, because it allowed us to envision how things will be set up for the evening, as well as practicing our speeches.
AUDIENCE RECEPTION
A piece of paper with a QR code was given out at the door on the way out in order to collect audience feedback on our end-of-year performance.

I believe that this was a useful way to gain insight into what we could have improved, and what we did well.
By the end of the night, we received 26 responses which were very positive overall. I was glad to see that everyone who responded felt that they had enjoyed themselves, as shown below.
These survey results, I believe, reflect how well we managed to plan the end-of-year show.
It was nice to read some audience members' comments about how much they liked my film in particular.
A lot of people stayed behind after the show to talk about our films. A few audience members approached me unexpectedly to express their appreciation for my animation, which was a very nice experience.
