CREATIVE PRE-PRODUCTION
LO4 4.1 - 4.2
STYLE SHEETS
I have decided to create three style sheets in accordance to my characters and location. This helps me further visualise what I will have to animate in the Production stage.
ANIMATION DEMOS

Going into this project I wasn't sure that I would be able to animate the fox character due to not having any experience in animating an animal before. This led me to carry out an animation demo on a running animal, as well as a more detailed drawing of a fox sleeping.
I believe this went very well because I was able to accomplish my goal. Upon reflection, In order to make the running animal look more like a fox, I should have drawn the tail slightly lower to the ground and avoided drawing the back half of its body too close to its head. This is due to the fact that it makes it look more like a cat or dog.
MOCK-UPS
Creating mock-up drawings of my protagonists and locations has helped me decide how I want them to look before moving on to storyboards and, eventually, animation, during production.
I struggled to choose between various colour palettes for my kitsune fox character because I liked the idea of her being white with red markings, like traditional kitsune fox drawings, or blue to emphasise how mystical she is.
STORYBOARDS
Storyboards have proven to be the most beneficial pre-production material to complete. Drawing out my scenes beforehand benefits me to ensure that I have a rough idea of what I want my animation to look like. It also helped me to come up with ideas that I had not previously considered.
VISUAL SCRIPT
I have decided to write a script because it is an integral part of the pre-production stage, where I make the decisions about what I would like my characters to say. Creating this was particularly helpful with bringing the narrator into the story.
AUDIO SCRIPT
Creating an audio breakdown script has been useful because it allows me to reflect on what foley sounds I will need to include in my film.
