AUDIENCE SURVEY
LO2 2.1 - 2.2
I have created this survey in order to gather others opinions on my idea.
By taking a look at the responses from the first questions, I am pleased that I have been able to collect votes from a wide range of genders and ages in order to reach a more diverse consensus.
This question confirms that the majority of people who responded to my survey will consider watching my short animation. This is useful information because, by looking deeper into individual responses, I can see which genders or age ranges this idea appeals to, and therefore who my demographic audience is.

This is further explored by a question I asked later in the survey about whether my idea would be more appealing to a younger or older audience; the majority (66.7%) answered younger. Whereas the minority (33.3%) said older, indicating audience preference and opinion.
I decided to ask what genre the respondents thought my concept lies under, and the majority said that they think it fits under fantasy and action. I will use this to research fantasy and action in the animation genre.
I am glad that I asked this question because I had not initially thought about the fox being a potential narrator, and had intended it to be the warrior. On reflection I think that I prefer this idea and will consider using it instead.
The last response made a valid point that having a narrator would allow the audience to know about something that they haven't seen on screen.
I asked this question to gauge the audience's reaction to my title, I chose Guardian because I thought that it reflected my idea well, as well as being short and easy to remember.

The second answer was very interesting to me, there were some ideas that I had not considered, this has caused me to think about the backstory of my fox character in more detail.
I believe I should have been more clear about the timeframe and duration limit for this question, because I did receive some responses suggesting that my short film should be up to 20-30 minutes, which is far too long given the time constraints that I have, and because I am working by myself on this project.
I asked whether my animation appeals to a younger or older audience to further engage with my demographic, I am not surprised that I received more votes for younger, particularly because animation tends to attract younger audiences.
Upon reflection on the 6th response, It would be a good idea for me to develop on my ideas for the animation style, as I hadn't really given it much thought previously.
I like this idea of seeing a change in the fox's relationship with the girl, and this is something that I would like to develop further.
This question is very useful because it allows me to research media that I have not looked into before relating to my idea. Two of the responses stated that they think Mulan is similar to this concept.
This led me to research into mulan as a character, because I would like my main character to have similarities with her as a strong female warrior.
I find it interesting to see people's different interpretations of my concept. It is good to see that they are all fairly similar, indicating that the concept is clear and easy to understand.
SURVEY CONCLUSIONS
I chose to use Google Forms because it has been reliable in the past for my other projects. After people have submit their responses, the site compiles them into charts for you, which is quite useful because it allows you to clearly see the variations in results and what the majority believes. I will be using this to my advantage in order to develop my idea further into the Pre-Production stage.
